DAY 2

Kigali, Rwanda

Arrive in Kigali where you are met and escorted to your hotel. You have just landed in what we consider, one of the most beautiful countries in world.  With its breathtaking landscapes, mountain views and waterfalls, we are sure that you will fall in love with Rwanda just as much as we have.

DAY 3

Kigali, Rwanda

Wake up in the morning at your leisure and enjoy breakfast at your hotel.  Start the day at Kigali Genocide Memorial, a place that commemorates the 1994 genocide. Rwanda has shown great courage in  recovering from the memory of the 1994 genocide. Today, Rwanda is a stable, well-run and peacefully united country.

After lunch at local boutique restaurant, head over to Inema Arts Center. This gallery is an inspiring venue for sharing different forms of artistic expression, while contributing positively to the community.

DAY 4

Akagera National Park, Rwanda

In the morning, you will drive to Akagera National Park where you will enjoy seeing crocodiles basking in the sun, hippos relaxing in muddy water, African elephants rumble along the forest edge and giraffes snatching leaves from branches high above.  Akagera is home to the last remaining refuge for savannah-adapted species in Rwanda.

The evening will begin by sipping delicious cocktails while witnessing a sky full of magnificent colors as the sun sets over Akagera.

DAY 5

Akagera National Park, Rwanda

Wake up early morning and take an early morning game drive where you will marvel at the unending landscape that hosts over 490 bird species and encounter buffalo, elephant, antelope, zebra, baboons, monkeys, an incredible pride of lions and many more species.  Spend the afternoon on a boat ride on Lake Ihema also a highlight of any visit to Akagera with its large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles and abundant waterbirds on the island in the middle of the lake.

DAY 6

Kigali, Rwanda

In the morning we will head back to Kigali to spend the day visiting with non-profit organizations that are giving back by providing support to families who are unable to send their children to school.  Visit with the schools and students to see the impact that education is having on their life.

Enjoy dinner in town.

DAY 7

Volcano National Park, Rwanda

Wake up at your leisure and enjoy breakfast before departing for Musanze. Take in the majestic views of the mountains and witness the calm life of the countryside.  You will feel the peace of the country on this drive and see the joy in the children as they play in their local villages.  On our way to the lodge, we will stop at a local fruit and vegetable market where will enjoy local fruit and sugar cane

In the evening, your heart will melt as you witness the sunset over the volcanoes.

DAY 8

Volcano National Park, Rwanda

Rise early morning and trek the rainforest for an encounter with rare silverback gorillas in their natural habitat and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the twin lakes and volcanoes. 

In the evening, we will reflect on our week together and discover how our passions have been ignited, what ways we were courageous, and what did we re-discover about ourselves.

Spend two nights at Virunga Lodge.

DAY 9

Kigali, Rwanda

Your last day in Rwanda!  Time to go shopping in Kigali.  Today you will spend the day looking for unique and exciting gifts for yourself and your loved ones.  Explore different Rwandan markets and discover art, jewelry, and other items that you can’t live without.

In the evening, depart for home taking with you amazing memories of your trip to Rwanda already dreaming of when you will return to Africa for more adventures on this magnificent continent.
