DAY 2

Delhi, India

Arrive in Delhi where you will be met by TJJ staff and escorted to your hotel for a bit of rest & relaxation.

Spend two nights at the Lodhi Hotel

DAY 3

Delhi, India

Drive north to Old Delhi with its unchanging medieval atmosphere, a clamorous environment, chock full of cars, rickshaws, a mix of old and new buildings, serpentine lanes and the largest mosque in India built in the 17th century, the Jami masjid. Take a ride on rickshaws to experience it at close quarters visiting Chandni Chowk market with its unique character of chaos and bursting-at-the-seams jumble of shops and buildings. Then head to the residential and market areas of southern Delhi to view the Qutb Minar, a 238-ft victory tower inscribed with calligraphy, and a visit to Humayun’s tomb, considered the forerunner to the Taj Mahal. 

 
 

DAY 4

Agra, India

Depart the Nizamuddin Railway Station early morning at 8:00am aboard the Gatimaan Express. Scheduled arrival in Agra at 9:50am. Visit the glorious Taj Mahal, which was a tribute from Emperor Shah Jahan to his departed wife. Twenty-two years in the making, it has been described as “a poem, a vision, a wonder, a dream” and an earthly replica of paradise. Discover handicraft products such as inlay work on marble, carpets, jewellery, zari and embroidery work. In the late afternoon, visit Agra Fort, the ancient red sandstone palace once occupied by Shah Jahan and his family.

DAY 5

Jaipur, India

Wake up early morning  to witness the sunrise over the magnificent Taj Mahal.   After breakfast,  take a tour of the 16th-century city of Fatehpur Sikri founded as the capital of the Mughal Empire in 1571 by Emperor Akbar which he later abandoned. Enjoy an early lunch before departing for Jaipur (140 miles/4 hour drive). 

After checking in to your hotel, you will explore the gateway to Rajasthan and part of India’s famed Golden Triangle; Jaipur (also known as the Pink City.  The city is a fascinating mix of ancient forts, royal palaces and vibrant bazaars with modern shopping malls and busy commercial centres.

Spend two nights at Sujan Hotel.

DAY 6

Jaipur, India

Today you will explore the iconic hilltop Amber Fort, a short distance north of the city. Amber Fort is known for its unique artistic style, blending both Hindu and Muslim (Mughal) elements, and its ornate and breath-taking artistic mastery.

In the afternoon visit Anokhi Museum known for its private collection of antiques and modern fabrics and accompanying commentary on the varied weaving techniques. End the evening with a visit to an elephant camp where you can bathe, feed and paint the elephants on their foreheads and trunks.  This will be followed by cocktails, dinner and traditional Indian dancers with the backdrop of flaming torches and lamps.

DAY 7

Udaipur, India

This morning you will be met and transferred to the airport for your flight to Udaipur. Picturesque and elegant, Udaipur is known by many names, including “the City of Lakes”. Undoubtedly one of India’s most romantic cities, it nestles between the glassy waters of its famous lakes and the ancient Aravalli Hills. Although it is one of Rajasthan’s largest cities, modern Udaipur manages to retain a charming small town vibe. 

At the heart of the city lies the serene Lake Pichola, with the Old City sprawled along its east bank. Built along a series of gentle hills, narrow winding streets, full of abrupt twists and turns, give way to spectacular marble palaces, hibiscus-laden gardens, sparkling fountains and pavilions. This dreamy destination has inspired many an artist and literary enthusiast.

Later in the afternoon you will be met by your guide to take you for a tour of the City palace and 

Spend 2 nights at Taj Rambagh Palace.

DAY 8

Udaipur, India

Today you will visit Crystal gallery located in Fateh Prakash Palace, these unique museum houses a collection of crystal items like ornaments fountains, vases, crockery, furniture and beds. Spend your day shopping in the local bazaar.  Timeless bazaars are crammed with colourful textiles, beautiful pottery and the region’s famed jewelry.  

Later embark on an afternoon boat cruise on the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola. From the boat you will be able to view the city of Udaipur as it rises majestically above the lake in the middle of the Rajasthan desert.

DAY 9

Delhi, India

Enjoy the morning at your leisure at the Taj Rambagh and all its luxuries. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Delhi. Enjoy dinner and a short night’s rest at the hotel before you embark on your flight home.
